Software Engineering Manager

What success looks like in this role:

• Leads a small team of software engineers building cloud services and internal platform capabilities.

• Provides hands-on technical leadership across architecture, design reviews, code reviews, development, and operational readiness.

• Creates and reviews technical assessments, high-level requirements, design proposals, and implementation plans.

• Collaborates with architects, product stakeholders, and engineering teams to define technical direction and delivery plans.

• Drives execution through planning, prioritization, coordination, and removal of delivery blockers.

• Improves engineering practices across testing, deployment, automation, observability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Coaches engineers through feedback, technical mentoring, career development, and performance guidance.

• Defines and monitors team success metrics related to delivery, quality, and engineering effectiveness.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• Proven experience shipping commercial software or building production cloud services.

• Ideally first experience in leading or managing software engineering teams or equivalent technical leadership experience.

• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and service-based or microservices architectures.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD, automation, observability, testing, and operationally reliable software delivery.

• Strong technical judgment, communication skills, and ability to drive alignment across stakeholders.

• Agile mindset and collaborative work style.
