  • The Role: An experienced hardware engineer responsible for developing and manufacturing networking and optics products for data center and cloud infrastructure.
  • The Person: The person will lead NPI and manufacturing activities for data center networking and optics hardware including DFM definition, yield analysis, qualification, and collaboration with global manufacturing partners.
  • Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering and 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing or development of server, networking, or cloud infrastructure products are required.

Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in manufacturing of server, networking, or cloud infrastructure products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent practical engineering experience.
  • 10 years of experience in the development or manufacturing of server, networking, or cloud infrastructure products.
  • Experience developing manufacturing hardware using custom electronics, specialized fixturing, and advanced instrumentation.
  • Proven track record in NPI development or manufacturing specifically for tier-1 cloud service provider products or tier-1 enterprise customers.
  • Ability to collaborate with international teams and contract manufacturers, including the flexibility for international travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, optimize, and deploy Google data center networking and optics hardware in collaboration with global manufacturing partners.
  • Define Design for Manufacturing (DFM) requirements and serve as the technical liaison between Design and Manufacturing teams.
  • Act as the Manufacturing product owner through New Product Introduction (NPI), managing product changes to enhance design and performance.
  • Analyze and root-cause manufacturing yield issues and field escapes, driving corrective measures with Google and partner engineering teams.
  • Lead qualification efforts to improve multi-source rates and support capacity expansion during NPI phases before transitioning to sustaining operations.
