About the Role
Based in Chicago in The Loop, the Junior AWS & IT Engineer is responsible for supporting our US-based staff and our AWS Production environments. You will be working with our Head of IT & Engineering to assist with SOC operations, implement AWS solutions to support projects, coordinate with our Development Team on risk mitigation and more.
The ideal candidate
Essential:
- Academic background in Computer Science, IT, or a related STEM field
- Basic understanding of computer networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Strong willingness to learn new technologies
Desirable:
- Basic understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory
- Basic knowledge of Linux
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Intune
- Basic understanding of cloud concepts (AWS or Azure)
- Exposure to scripting (PowerShell or Python)
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles (MFA, least privilege, endpoint security)

- Salary estimate: US$70,000 - US$100,000, depending on the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications
