What You Will Do
Development Operations (DO) Test Systems Engineering (TSE) is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to manage Special Test Equipment (STE) design projects in support of validation and production testing of jet engines and engine components. This position is based in East Hartford, CT.

Lead a multidiscipline DO team through an estimating process to provide a comprehensive plan when required to secure future work

Initiate design kick off. Identify and align on project scope with stakeholders

Manage design requirements and ensure gap closure by need dates

Continuously monitor and track project schedule and Estimate at Completion (EAC) to ensure design and fabrication are within cost and schedule constraints

Prepare and present EV status of all tasks that require EVMS

Ensure timely completion of project milestones such as design reviews to meet schedule requirements.

Schedule design reviews, ensuring that presentations are comprehensive, complete, and meet entrance and exit criteria

Manage the procurement of STE. Periodically track fabrication at outside vendors to ensure on-time delivery

Continually assess and communicate project status and risks to TSE management, customers, and key stakeholders

Travel is up to 10%.
Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM

8 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree in a STEM with 5 years of engineering experience

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
