Job Description:

Senior Planning Engineer

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Planning Engineer to join our team! In this role you will lead planning, scheduling, progress control and time-related claims / EOT support for major infrastructure works, ensuring robust programme management and clear reporting to stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Review contractor baseline and updated programmes and support the Engineer’s consent in line with contract conditions and Parsons practices.

  • Develop integrated master schedules and validate resource and schedule feasibility.

  • Identify schedule risks/conflicts and maintain planning trackers/logs and inputs to the risk register.

  • Analyze progress updates to identify delays/slippage, critical events, and recommend mitigation and recovery plans.

  • Perform “what-if” and schedule impact analysis for changes/variations and potential events.

  • Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports, programme analysis, and presentations against milestones.

  • Assess claims including EOT/disruption using delay analysis methods (e.g., time impact analysis and window analysis) and demonstrate concurrent delay where applicable.

  • Coordinate planning issues with contractors and stakeholders; attend meetings and prepare concise minutes.

  • Maintain contemporaneous records; issue delay/slow-performance notifications when required.

  • Lead and mentor planning team members as needed.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years planning experience, including strong claims/EOT and delay analysis capability.

  • Experience in construction supervision of large infrastructure projects.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency with planning tools and reporting systems; strong computer literacy.

  • Strong written and spoken English with excellent technical writing skills.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Professional certifications in planning/scheduling (e.g., PSP, PMI-SP or similar).

  • Forensic planning experience within engineering consultancy/PMC environments.
