As a Material Science/Metallurgical Engineer Intern at Cleveland-Cliffs, projects in which an intern will participate will vary, depending on education level and plant, but will model the duties below to the extent possible.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Daily review of production process data
- Analyze disposition of non-conforming product
- Participate on quality improvement teams
- Conduct and analyze mill experiments
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Analyze current operating performance and standard operating procedures and make recommendations for improvement
- Various other projects as needed to support the business
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in the field of Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or other related technical degree
- Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027
