Job Description

The Software Localization & Relevant Engineering (L&RE) team in Beijing is seeking a curious and
analytical Software Development Intern. At Apple, we believe the best products are those that feel personal to everyone, regardless of their language or culture. We are looking for someone who doesn't just see code, but sees the opportunity to solve complex, real-world problems. In this role, you will be at the intersection of Language and Technology, helping us redefine how AI and Machine Learning can break down communication barriers. If you are a natural problem-solver who thrives on tackling "unsolvable" challenges and is eager to make a global impact, we
want to hear from you.

Description

As an intern in the L&RE team, you will not just be executing tasks—you will be an active contributor to the engineering lifecycle. You will join a team of world-class engineers to design and implement features that bring Apple’s products to life for our international users.

Minimum Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s/PhD degree in Computer Science, Software
Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
Solid foundational knowledge and hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs)
and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, with a proven ability to deconstruct complex technical
problems and propose creative solutions.
Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Python, Swift, C, C++, or Objective-C.
Excellent communication skills with professional-level English proficiency (written and
verbal), capable of explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Problem-Solving: Experience navigating ambiguity and independent
troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.
Applied AI Experience: A track record of building, training, and deploying ML models in real-
world scenarios or significant academic projects.
Deep Learning Expertise: Strong understanding of deep learning architectures, training
methodologies, and the ethics of Generative AI.
Global Mindset: Passion for languages and cultures, with a drive to ensure technology is
accessible and intuitive for people worldwide.
Collaborative Spirit: Ability to thrive within a diverse, global team, showing high adaptability
and a strong work ethic.
