Step into the heart of Europe’s payment landscape. As an IT Business Analyst in our SEPA domain, you’ll help shape the systems behind millions of secure, seamless transactions every day. This is a role where your expertise makes a direct impact — improving reliability, strengthening compliance, and enabling smooth payment experiences for customers across borders.

The Team

You’ll be part of the SEPA Area within Payment & Settlement Services (PSS). PSS designs, builds, and operates ING’s high‑quality payment, settlement, and open‑banking services. We focus on seamless, scalable core payments so that business lines can focus on delivering exceptional customer value.

The SEPA team consists of around 100 colleagues across the Netherlands, Romania, and India. It’s an international, collaborative, and knowledge‑driven environment where engineers, analysts, and architects work together on strategic projects that enhance ING’s European payments infrastructure. The culture is open, supportive, and built on ownership and continuous improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you turn business needs into smart, scalable, end‑to‑end solutions that strengthen ING’s SEPA payment capabilities.

You will be:

Determining the functional and non‑functional impact of business, architectural, and IT requirements on our domain.
Designing features by breaking down epics, identifying interdependencies, and shaping a clear functional roadmap.
Supporting decisions by presenting design alternatives with clear explanations and implications.
Acting as the key point of contact for major projects, aligning with business, IT, and architecture teams across locations.
Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
Removing roadblocks and driving work toward delivering maximum value for consumers.
Working with architects and engineers to choose technical solutions and assess risks and non‑functional aspects.
Slicing epics into features using combined business and IT knowledge.
Highlighting dependencies across teams, areas, and domains.
Refining feature definitions, estimates, and functional roadmaps.
Partnering closely with developers throughout the build phase.

To succeed, you bring:

Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
Experience working with complex IT chains and international or remote teams.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or DevOps ways of working.
Understanding of payments, financial flows, or SEPA processes.
Solid stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to build alignment across teams.
Technical affinity such as APIs, microservices, databases, or software development lifecycles.

Nice to have:
Experience with international payments (MT/ISO15022, MX/ISO20022), project management, or near/offshore collaboration.
