Acting Up for 4 months with possible extension (Long term Sickness Cover)
Grade 6 - £54,495- £64,811
Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review
Working 36.5 hours per week
We are pleased to offer an acting‑up opportunity for a colleague to lead our HR Data, Insight & Analytics function. This role will play a key part in shaping how we use data to drive evidence‑based decision making across the organisation.
Key Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality HR data, insight and analytics in line with organisational goals, while leading the development of our HR data strategy and data governance framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the HR data strategy to support evidence‑based decision making.
- Develop and embed a robust HR data governance framework, ensuring data quality, security and compliance with internal policies and GDPR.
- Oversee the creation, monitoring and continuous improvement of performance metrics, dashboards and business intelligence tools.
- Work closely with HR, senior leaders and key stakeholders to provide timely, accurate and actionable insight.
- Build and lead a high‑performing team, fostering innovation and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strengthen internal and external relationships, including with Trade Unions, to share insight and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Lead the development of processes for complex datasets using a range of analytical and technical skills.
- Coach and support colleagues to embed best practice and promote data‑led decision making.
- Role‑model the council’s values and promote equal opportunities in all aspects of the work.
This acting‑up opportunity is ideal for someone with strong analytical capability, leadership experience and a passion for using data to drive organisational improvement.
