Created in 2015 to align, lighten and modernize infrastructure, the Technology & Infrastructure (T & I) team is the backbone and the future forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada. This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a pivotal role dedicated to the modernization of our core platforms and the evolution of our enterprise data ecosystem.

You will lead the Data Migration with the current Broadcast Management System and Integration for our current data structure with IBM Cognos towards a future-state powered by Microsoft Fabric, and the Power Platform.

Your Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Data Analytics, you will serve as the primary liaison between business relations, stakeholders, external vendors, and our technical delivery teams. You will be responsible for deconstructing legacy workflows and architecting the functional requirements for data migrations and system integrations that affect the entire organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Propose, lead, and facilitate workshops with business partners and vendors for Data Migration/Integration, challenge, and document complex functional requirements.
  • Ecosystem Modernization: Act as a subject matter expert during the transition from legacy reporting (IBM Cognos) to modern data solutions (Microsoft Fabric, Power BI).
  • Business Process: Gather requirements from various stakeholders (Ensure Business Requirements are clear and well understood, Ensure Data Migration Rules and Transformation are well understood for the development team.
  • Data Stewardship: Lead data mapping and migration activities, ensuring data integrity is maintained as we move information across platforms.
  • Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in Scrum teams to deliver iterative solutions, managing the backlog and communicating them via Jira.
  • Vendor Management: Lead discussions with external partners to ensure technical solutions align with our needs.

Business Analyst Requirements

  • Business Analysis: 3+ years of experience; CBIP, IIBA or PMI-PBA certifications are highly valued assets.
  • ERP & Data: Experience with Dynamics 365 F&O and Microsoft Fabric.Knowledge of IBM Cognos, Oracle Cloud Fusion (asset) as Business Analyst.
  • Low-Code/BI: Proficiency in the Power Platform stack (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) as Business Analyst.
  • Data Integration: Proven track record in Data Migration and Integration projects.

Soft Skills & Qualifications

  • Exceptional ability to use technical terminology with IT teams while using "everyday language" to gain buy-in from business partners.
  • A strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously under tight broadcast deadlines.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic environment where processes are evolving; you value change as an opportunity for efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related College Diploma with equivalent professional experience.
