About the role

Position Purpose: Assist in financial analysis, pricing, and risk assessment to estimate outcomes. As part of the Vendor Analytics team, this role supports Value-Based Care (VBC) initiatives through contract modeling, healthcare analytics, and financial performance analysis.

Key Details: Fully remote within the Continental U.S. Requires actuarial experience and demonstrated progress toward an actuarial credential through successful completion of actuarial exams (Rule of 5). Healthcare experience preferred, including claims analysis and healthcare datasets. Experience with Excel, SQL, SAS, Python, Snowflake, and/or Teradata preferred. Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills are essential. This role is part of Centene's Actuarial Development Program, offering exam support, mentorship, professional development, and exposure to cross-functional stakeholders across the organization.

In This Sr. Actuarial Analyst Role, You Will:

  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance, and business to calculate financial outcomes.
  • Assist with developing trends and baseline targets based on analysis of data and other pertinent information.
  • Analyze and evaluate vendor fees and shared savings arrangements.
  • Develop and run data reports.
  • Assist with determining the equitable basis for vendor contracts and financial arrangements.
  • Support the development and maintenance of financial models for Value-Based Care (VBC) contracts, including shared savings, risk, and capitation analyses.
  • Analyze claims, vendor performance, and other healthcare datasets using tools such as SQL, SAS, or Python to establish baselines, track performance, and identify trends.
  • Prepare financial analyses and collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendor partners, and cross-functional teams to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Identify data discrepancies, reporting issues, and analytical findings, and escalate concerns or recommendations as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Combination of years of experience and number of actuarial exams passed equals or exceeds 5 (Rule of 5). For example, 2 years of actuarial experience and 3 passed actuarial exams.

Pay Range: $70,100.00 - $126,200.00 per year
