About the role

About CodeRoad

CodeRoad provides end-to-end software development services, helping businesses scale with ideal infrastructure solutions. From staff augmentation to dedicated IT teams and general software engineering, our nearshore technology services empower businesses to thrive in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Fullstack Developer with a heavy backend focus to serve as a core contributor for a global leader in Item Chain Management solutions. In this role, you will anchor the development of high-throughput, low-latency web applications and data systems that process billions of unique item identities from source to sale. Working alongside architects, product managers, and cross-functional engineering PODs, you will design robust system features, engineer resilient APIs, and navigate both complex legacy architectures and modern cloud-native environments.

This role is critical to transforming massive streams of item-level data into real-time operational intelligence for global retail and industrial enterprises. By driving back-end performance, optimizing front-end responsiveness, and leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools, you will directly impact the reliability, scalability, and long-term evolutionary architecture of our client's core software platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Build scalable, high-availability back-end services and responsive front-end interfaces that meet complex enterprise and product requirements.

  • Anchor end-to-end feature delivery by designing robust APIs, optimizing database schemas, and applying advanced web scalability techniques.

  • Optimize application performance, troubleshoot low-level system bottlenecks, and resolve complex production incidents using modern observability toolstacks.

  • Lead quality and delivery standards by actively participating in code reviews, conducting performance load testing, and managing CI/CD pipelines.

  • Collaborate with Tech Leads, Product Managers, and UX/UI designers to translate high-level business goals into actionable, resilient technical implementations.

  • Champion continuous engineering excellence by mentoring team members, refining operational processes, and leveraging AI-assisted development methodologies.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience as a Fullstack Engineer with a strong backend bias

  • Core Backend Stack: Advanced fluency with Java with deep expertise in Java 21, Spring/Spring boot, Oracle PL/SQL, and MySQL.

  • Core Frontend Stack: Hands-on expertise with JavaScript (ES5/ES6), ReactJS, and legacy frameworks like ExtJS.

  • Cloud & DevOps Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins CI/CD automation.

  • Observability & Testing: Practical experience using New Relic, Splunk, JMeter (load testing), and strong software testing fundamentals.

  • AI Tooling: Demonstrated knowledge of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate workflow and code efficiency.

  • Soft Skills: High ownership mindset, keen attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving capabilities.

  • Language: Advanced English (written and spoken) is mandatory to collaborate directly with US-based stakeholders operating on East/West Coast time zones.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to supply chain, RFID tracking, or item-level lifecycle management platforms.

  • Hands-on experience refactoring legacy frontend monoliths (e.g., ExtJS) into modern micro-frontends (ReactJS).

  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message brokers like Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.

  • Experience with automated infrastructure orchestration tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
