About the Role
As a Test Systems Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize automated test and burn-in systems used in the production of advanced laser diodes. You will take ownership of complete test system solutions, from electrical design and software development to hardware integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
You will work closely with manufacturing, process engineering, product development, and other technical teams to ensure robust and efficient production systems that support high-quality manufacturing.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complete electrical control systems, including power distribution, control circuits, electrical schematics, and machine safety systems.
- Develop and maintain PLC software and supporting software applications for automated production and test equipment.
- Integrate measurement hardware, sensors, actuators, and instrumentation into automation and test systems.
- Commission, validate, and optimize burn-in and electro-optical measurement systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical, software, and automation-related issues to ensure reliable operation of production equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and continuously improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics, software documentation, and operating procedures.
- Design new test systems and integrate them into existing software and manufacturing environments.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent technical education and experience will also be considered.
- Experience designing complete electrical control systems, including power distribution, control circuits, and machine safety systems.
- Strong background in analog electronics and measurement hardware.
- Proficiency in C#, or another object-oriented programming language.
- Experience working with SQL databases.
- Several years of experience developing production equipment, automated machinery, or industrial tooling.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive projects forward.
Meritorious Experience
- PLC programming experience.
- PCB design experience.
- Experience working with industrial automation systems and test equipment.
- Background in semiconductor, photonics, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
Who You Are
We believe you are a curious engineer who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges and continuously learning new technologies. You take a structured and analytical approach to problem solving while remaining pragmatic and solution-oriented.
You enjoy working across multiple disciplines and are motivated by seeing your designs move from concept to a fully operational production system. You thrive in environments where you can make a visible impact and contribute directly to manufacturing success.
Why Join Us?
This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge photonics and semiconductor technology in a role that offers significant technical breadth and ownership. You will be involved in everything from electronics and software to automation, system integration, data acquisition, and production optimization.
