About the role

About the Role:

We are hiring Analyst Interns to join our Competition and Finance Practices in Summer 2027. The 10-week internship will run from June through August.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative research and analysis, including compiling, cleaning, and, analyzing large data sets.
  • Conduct qualitative research and analysis, including reviewing, summarizing, and identifying relevant information from academic papers, analyst reports, press releases, industry literature and a wide range of documents produced in litigation.
  • Create tables, charts, and other visual representations of analyses.
  • Summarize and communicate research and analytical findings to team members.
  • Ensure accuracy of work product using established audit and quality control processes.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for intellectually curious, analytically minded candidates who are eager to apply economic thinking to real-world issues. A strong academic foundation matters, but so does the drive to keep learning once you're here.

Required qualifications:

  • Strong academic background pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, finance, or a related quantitative field. Candidates should be completing their third year of college or their last year of a master’s program.
  • Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative research and analytical skills.
  • Strong interest in Economics/Finance, statistical programming and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Significant coursework in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, data science, or other quantitative fields 
  • Introductory knowledge of Stata, SAS, R, Python or other statistical software 
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to complete multiple tasks on tight deadlines while maintaining close attention to detail 
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Position classification: Non-Exempt

Compass Lexecon offers a compensation package that is competitive with other major economic consulting firms. The base salary for this position is $50.00 an hour. This position is non-exempt, meaning it is eligible for overtime pay. 

Summer Interns are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week for ten weeks with potential for overtime. Compensation is consistent with paid internships at other major economic consulting firms.
