About the Role:
Courtyard by Marriott in Shelton, CT is looking for a skilled and dependable Engineer to join our PM Shift team! In this hands-on role, you'll play a vital part in keeping our hotel running smoothly and ensuring every guest enjoys a comfortable, well-maintained stay. If you take pride in your craft and love solving problems, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel property during PM shift hours
- Respond promptly to guest room and common area maintenance requests, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues
- Inspect and maintain mechanical systems, equipment, and building infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and repair lighting, fixtures, appliances, and other hotel systems
- Ensure compliance with safety codes, hotel standards, and Marriott brand guidelines
- Document completed work orders and communicate outstanding issues to the next shift
- Support the engineering team with special projects and renovations as needed
Requirements:
- Prior experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, or a related trade
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks during PM shift hours
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and guest service orientation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- Relevant trade certifications or vocational training a plus
