- The Role:Engineer responsible for managing zero-mile automotive warranty claims, driving root cause analysis and coordinating cross-functional OEM interactions to resolve defects and reduce recurrence.
- The Person:The person will manage zero-mile claims end-to-end, lead containment and root cause analysis, coordinate cross-functional countermeasures, and act as the primary OEM interface for claim resolution.
- Requirements:The role requires Quality Engineering experience, experience managing zero-mile or customer warranty claims, knowledge of IATF 16949, OEM requirements, and problem-solving methodologies.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
• Own end-to-end management of zero-mile claims from notification through closure.
• Lead immediate containment actions to prevent further outflow at OEM and internal facilities.
• Perform data-driven validation of claims, including returned part analysis and NTF assessments.
• Lead structured root cause analysis and corrective action development.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement and verify countermeasures.
• Act as primary OEM interface for zero-mile claim discussions, audits, and follow-up.
• Support claim disputes and cost reduction through technical justification.
• Track and report claim trends, recurrence risk, and countermeasure effectiveness.
• Drive prevention activities and deploy lessons learned (Yokoten).
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience managing zero-mile or customer warranty claims.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, OEM requirements, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and customer communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Multi-OEM support experience (Honda, Toyota, Subaru GM, Ford, Stellantis).
• Experience with OEM scorecards, and claim dispute processes.
• New model launch or process change quality risk experience.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Zero-mile claim volume and recurrence rate.
• OEM response timeliness.
• Claim dispute success rate.
• Corrective action closure effectiveness.
• OEM quality scorecard performance.
