Tax Analyst 
Location: Remote - Eastern or Central Time Zones Preferred
Reports to: SVP of Product

The Role 
 As a Tax Analyst at K1X, you’ll be a key member of our product team, bringing tax technical expertise to a fast-moving environment. This role is a mix of tax research, internal support, and hands-on collaboration with product, client success, and engineering. You'll answer real-time questions from both internal and external stakeholders, help shape our tax product content, and support tax compliance initiatives that impact our platform.

What You’ll Do 

  • Partner closely with product managers and engineers to support tax-related features and workflows 
  • Respond to tax technical questions from internal teams (Product, Client Success) and external partners 
  • Research and interpret tax reporting rules (federal, SALT, and international) for flow-thru and tax-exempt entities 
  • Monitor and analyze changes in tax laws that may impact our technology 
  • Assist in developing tax content and supporting documentation for the product 
  • Work with state taxing authorities or external advisors as needed to resolve compliance questions 
  • Participate in client calls to support tax-related inquiries or special projects 
  • Help draft internal briefs, reference materials, and training docs for non-tax stakeholders 
  • Aid in rollover process for federal, state (SALT), and international jurisdictions — from IRS and state forms through final release in the platform
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax workflows and user experiences in our platform 

Requirements

What You Bring 

  • 3–5 years of experience in tax compliance and/or tax technology, ideally with exposure to flow-through entities or tax-exempt organizations 
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred 
  • Strong tax research skills and the ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams 
  • Familiarity with federal and state tax reporting requirements; international knowledge is a plus 
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with a desire to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to grow with an innovative startup 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA or master’s in taxation a plus
