  • The Role: Provide second-line radio systems technical support and maintenance for marine, aviation and public-safety radio networks within a managed solutions team.

  • Requirements: The role requires 2nd Line Radio repair experience, knowledge of Marine and Aviation radio systems and licensing, antenna and PMR installation and decommissioning, experience of Tetra, microwave and DMR systems, Microsoft Windows and Unix and understanding of IP networks/LAN.

Radio Systems Engineer

Working Hours - Monday - Friday 37.50 (between 8.00 AM - 6.00 PM) 

We are looking for someone with 2nd Line Radio Services experience, including maintenance and fault resolution. This is a fast-paced environment, so it is essential that you can manage a changing list of priorities. 

 Flexibility for On-call Rota and Overtime hours when required. 

Due to the nature of this role successful applicant must ideally have current SC clearance including CTC Enhanced Level 2 or be eligible to obtain those clearances. 

Purpose of the role: 

This is a significant role within our Managed Solutions team. 

This role reports into the Programme Manager and forms part of a Managed Solutions team. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Provide customer support to end users to triage faults/issues 
  • Developing solutions for customers radio requirements
  • Providing 2nd line technical support to field based engineers relating to radio faults 
  • Provides technical support for the development, construction, maintenance and optimisation of radio networks. 
  • Installing, configuring and testing radio network equipment and software components.  
  • Attend customer sites to perform site surveys, system maintenance, assist with fault finding/repair or project work as necessary. 

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have/be: 

  • Knowledge of Marine and Aviation radio systems and licensing
  • 2nd Line Radio repair experience including maintenance and fault resolution 
  • Antenna, PMR installation and decommissioning.  
  • Experience of Tetra, microwave and DMR systems, including cell enhancement and repeater systems. 
  • Personal and on-site Health and safety 
  • Liaison with and co-ordination of both Client and 3rd Party contractors. 
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Windows and Unix based systems. 
  • General awareness of RF and electronic test equipment. 
  • Understanding of IP networks/LAN

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK. Documentary evidence will be required.

  • Due to the nature of the role, candidates will need a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check. Further security checks including NPPV3+SC and CTC Enhanced level 2 will also be required.
