Job Summary

As an MDR Analyst on our globally recognized Unit 42 team, you will be at the forefront of cybersecurity, responsible for customer security monitoring, threat hunting, and incident response. In this role, you will leverage our cutting-edge Cortex XDR platform to detect and neutralize cyber threats, protecting our customers' internal businesses. We are looking for a creative problem-solver and quick learner who thrives on solving complex security challenges and can effectively communicate and follow established processes for analyzing threat alerts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of security incidents, from initial detection and analysis through to complete remediation and customer communication.

  • Analyze and investigate security alerts from our Cortex XDR platform, applying critical thinking to determine root cause and required response actions.

  • Proactively collaborate with global customers, ensuring alignment and providing best-in-class security monitoring and response services.

  • Work closely and exchange information with Security Research, Threat Intelligence, and Threat Hunting teams to enhance detection and remediation of emerging threats.

  • Provide constructive feedback to product, research, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement of Palo Alto Networks' security products.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a multi-tiered Security Operations Center (SOC) or Incident Response (IR) role.

  • Demonstrated experience with security technologies such as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW).

  • A strong familiarity with common cyber-attack trends, adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR or Cortex XSOAR.

  • Relevant industry certifications such as GIAC (GCIH, GCFA), CompTIA CySA+, or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

  • Experience with basic static or dynamic malware analysis.
