Software Engineer (SE / Sr SE), Fullstack: our view in 3 lines...
- The Role:This role is for a fullstack software engineer building web applications, APIs, and backend services for autonomous truck data and simulation platforms.
- The Person:The person will build fullstack applications, scenario authoring tools, simulation and drive-log replay interfaces, and shared platform features such as authentication and access control.
- Requirements:The ideal candidate has experience with Python services, REST APIs, relational data modeling, modern TypeScript frontend interfaces, asynchronous jobs, deployment, testing, observability, and production reliability.
About the role
Our data and simulation platforms are only as valuable as what people can do with them. In this role, you will own the product surface on top of those platforms — the web applications, APIs, and backend services that autonomy and ML engineers, operations and road-test teams, and external partners use to find data, author and run simulations, and act on the results. You will work across the full stack, from relational data models and Python services to modern TypeScript interfaces, turning ambiguous engineering workflows into tools people rely on every day. We welcome engineers from product, web platform, or developer-tooling backgrounds; prior autonomous-vehicle experience is helpful but not required.
We are open to candidates at either the Software Engineer or Senior Software Engineer level. Level will be determined by experience, technical depth, scope of ownership, and demonstrated impact. You do not need experience with every technology in our stack; we value strong fundamentals, ownership, and the ability to learn.
Responsibilities:
-
Design and ship fullstack applications end to end: Python services and REST APIs, relational data modeling, asynchronous jobs, modern TypeScript frontend interfaces, deployment, testing, observability, and production reliability
-
Build scenario authoring and management tools, including interactive editors for creating, parameterizing, and versioning test scenarios, and reproducible scenario libraries shared across teams
-
Build interfaces for large-scale simulation and drive-log replay: launching and tracking runs, browsing results, comparing regressions across releases, and triaging failures down to individual scenarios
-
Build shared application foundations — authentication, access control, multi-tenancy, and API conventions — that serve internal engineers, operations teams, and external partners from one coherent platform
-
Ensure that your work is performed in accordance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
