Job Description

What Retell does

Retell is the voice AI platform for production phone agents. Enterprise call centers use us to deploy AI agents that handle real calls — inbound and outbound — at scale. 50M+ conversations/month. YC-backed. ~20 people.

What this role is

You make Retell's community into a growth channel. Here's what that means concretely.

We already have the scaffolding: a Certified Partner Program with tiers, a growing roster of agency partners, an app partner directory, a Discourse forum, and YouTube creators making Retell content organically. What we don't have is someone who owns all of it full-time and turns it into a compounding growth engine.

What you'll do

Scale the partner ecosystem. We have certified partners building voice agents for clients across healthcare, restaurants, real estate, insurance, and more. You'll be the person who activates this ecosystem — recruiting new partners, keeping existing ones engaged, making sure they have what they need (early access, co-marketing, referral tracking, templates), and tracking which partners are actually driving revenue. The goal is to make "build it on Retell" the default choice for every AI agency and consultant in the voice space.

Build the creator and content flywheel. Retell tutorials are already showing up on YouTube organically. Your job is to accelerate that — find the creators, give them a reason to keep producing (affiliate structure, featured placement, verified status, early access), and build the pipeline so we're getting a steady stream of third-party content every month. Not by writing it yourself. By making it worthwhile for others to create.

Own community infrastructure. Take over Discourse. Fix the support experience. Build the culture where builders help each other. Run regular community touchpoints — hangouts, builder spotlights, newsletters, contributor recognition. Make it the place people come to learn how to build voice agents, not just to file support tickets.

Drive community-sourced SEO. Every partner case study, every creator tutorial, every forum thread answering "how do I build an AI phone agent for X" is a long-tail landing page. You should be thinking about how every community action you enable creates organic discovery.

What makes someone great at this

  • You've taken an early-stage partner or creator program and scaled it — not just launched one, but made it produce measurable output over time
  • You've worked with technical creators and know what it takes to get someone to choose your platform as the subject of their next video or tutorial
  • You understand affiliate and referral economics. You can design incentive structures and tell which relationships are worth doubling down on
  • You've run a technical community (Discourse, forum, Slack) past the phase where the company is answering every question
  • You get SEO at a practical level — community content that ranks
  • Bonus: you've been inside a PLG ecosystem (automation tools, developer platforms, no-code/AI tools) and know how these flywheels work from the operator side

Retell is building the AI voice layer for every business.

We’re replacing outdated call centers with real-time AI voice agents that sell, support, and retain customers at scale.

Voice is still the most natural way humans communicate, yet it’s been stuck with legacy tech for decades. We’re changing that by bringing speed, empathy, and reliability to every phone conversation.

In under two years, thousands of companies now run on Retell. We’ve grown to $35M ARR, raised a $4.7M seed, and scaled a 24-person team, backed by Y Combinator, Altman Capital, and top-tier investors.

We’re now one of the top 50 AI apps in a16z’s rankings and a top-ranking startup on the Lean AI leaderboard.

We’re moving fast, tackling hard technical problems, and setting the standard for voice automation. If you want to help define the future of how businesses talk to customers, this is the place to do it.
