Job Description

About ALSO.

We’re ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. We’re a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO—replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.

We’re seeking an Accessories Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of accessories that elevate the micromobility experience — including OEM-developed, ODM-sourced, and co-branded components. You’ll own a portfolio spanning helmets, racks, chargers, bags, lighting, and rider-focused tools that enhance safety, comfort, and usability across our vehicle platforms.

Roughly 80% of your time will focus on independently managing ODM and co-developed accessories from concept through production, working directly with suppliers and Supply Chain to bring products to market. The remaining 20% will involve collaboration with internal engineering and TPM teams on flagship OEM accessories — high-visibility products that integrate deeply with our vehicle platforms.

What You Will Do

Product Line Strategy

  • Define and maintain a multi-year accessory roadmap aligned with vehicle programs and customer needs.

  • Conduct market and user research to identify emerging trends, product gaps, and new opportunities.

  • Build compelling business cases and clear product briefs grounded in customer and commercial insights.

Independent Accessory Development (≈80%)

  • Lead ODM and supplier-driven accessory programs end-to-end — from concept through validation and launch.

  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, review prototypes, and manage fit, finish, and performance testing.

  • Negotiate specifications, materials, and cost targets to ensure commercial viability.

  • Oversee product readiness in collaboration with sourcing, operations, and marketing teams.

OEM Accessory Collaboration (≈20%)

  • Partner with internal engineering and TPM teams on complex or integrated accessories developed alongside vehicle platforms.

  • Contribute to requirement definition, prototype evaluation, and cross-functional alignment for flagship accessories.

  • Provide market and user perspective to inform prioritization and design decisions.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Work with compliance teams to ensure accessory designs meet regional and international requirements.

  • Collaborate with the technical writing team to develop installation manuals, user guides, educational content, and service documentation.

  • Support marketing and operations in go-to-market planning, packaging, and lifecycle updates.

Lifecycle Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor performance, quality, and user feedback to drive updates and next-generation concepts.

  • Manage SKU lifecycle, pricing inputs, and assortment optimization.

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and sustainability improvements.

What You Will Bring

Required

  • 4+ years of product management or product development experience in consumer hardware, micromobility, or outdoor gear.

  • Proven ability to independently manage suppliers and bring products from concept to market.

  • Strong understanding of accessory manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and user expectations.

  • Excellent self-management, communication, and relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with integrated accessory design or vehicle-platform accessories.

  • Familiarity with packaging, DTC fulfillment, or retail distribution.

  • Background in industrial design, mechanical engineering, or hands-on product development.

The estimated annual compensation for this position ranges from $165,000 - $195,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Why ALSO.

We’re passionate about helping the world find a better way to get there—wherever it is you’re headed.

We’re located in the heart of Silicon Valley and have brought together a world-class team from some of the biggest brands in the technology, automotive, cycling, outdoor recreation and retail spaces.

Together we’re working hands-on to imagine, design and build an entirely new solution to a global set of transportation challenges.

Perks and Benefits

  • Robust health coverage. Excellent health, dental and vision insurance covered up to 100% by ALSO with FSA & HSA options.

  • One Medical membership and dedicated insurance advocates.

  • Rich fertility and family building benefits with Progyny.

  • Flexible time off.

  • 401(k) match.
