Security Engineering Intern: our view in 3 lines...

  • The Role: An intern-level security engineer role to support security engineering, reviews, tooling, and incident/operations practices for corporate and production (including OT) environments.
  • The Person: Perform security engineering tasks including building internal security tools, conducting security reviews across corporate and production infrastructure including OT, and supporting security operations and incident response under guidance.
  • Requirements: BSc in IT/Computer Science or equivalent and experience with at least one programming/scripting language such as Python, Ruby, Powershell, Bash, plus familiarity with malware analysis, forensics, SOAR, SIEM platforms, Windows, Linux, MacOS, and Azure Cloud Services.

Job Description

 

  •  Recognize, adopt, and instill the best practices in security engineering fields throughout the organization: development, cryptography, network security, security operations, incident response, security intelligence. 
  •  Build and improve security utilities and tools for internal use that enable you and your fellow team members to operate at high speed and scale. 
  •  Identify personal and team priorities and work on assignments with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and deadlines. 
  •  Provide security expertise and guidance to a diverse set of Sika's IT and business teams. 
  •  Conduct security reviews of core corporate and production infrastructure, including OT environments. 

 

Qualifications

We Need Your Skills: 

  • BSc degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent related field.  

  • at least one programming/scripting language, such as Python, Ruby, Powershell, Bash… 

  • Experience with malware analysis, forensics, SOAR, SIEM platforms, and a variety of Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS), as well as Azure Cloud Services is a big plus. 

 

Soft skills:  

  • Willingness to learn.  

  • Enjoyment of problem solving.  

  • English language is needed.
