  • The Role: The role is for an experienced project engineer supporting water treatment projects within an environmental services business. The person will specify and review process equipment and components, produce design drawings, write procurement specifications, and inspect and approve equipment for projects.
  • Requirements: The role requires experience with pumps, valves, instrumentation and controls, design of piping systems and pressure vessels, Google apps suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets) and reviewing 3-D models using 3-D design software. Candidates must also be able to write procurement specifications and inspect equipment.

Job Description

  • Specify water treatment process equipment and components including pressure vessels, piping, valves, pumps, instruments & controls, etc.
  • Review and ensure compliance with technical specifications required for projects.
  • Work with the design team to create all designs and drawings needed for projects.
  • Define scope of supply for suppliers, and write procurement specifications and requests for quotation.
  • Review and approve equipment design. Inspection of equipment.

Qualifications

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or a related field, and 5 years of progressively responsible post-bachelor’s degree experience in a related engineering occupation. Alternatively, Master's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or a related field, and 3 years of post-master's degree experience in a related engineering occupation required.

The position also requires: 3 years experience with process equipment utilizing pumps, valves, instrumentation and controls, and the manufacturing processes utilized for the same; 3 years experience in design of piping systems, pressure vessels, and steel structures; 3 years experience in specifying size, study control valves, piping, and pumps; 3 years experience in Google apps suite (Gmail, Docs, and Sheets); and 3 years experience in reviewing 3-D models using 3-D design software.

Additional Information

Telecommuting is permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at Whittier Filtration office in Brea, CA.  $136,968 to $136,968 per year.
