Job Description

Natixis is seeking a motivated and experienced French-speaking Data Engineering Team Leader to manage and lead a dedicated team of Data Engineers in Lisbon. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, driving both the managerial and operational success of the team. You will be instrumental in shaping our data strategies and ensuring the efficient delivery of data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Management: Provide day-to-day management, guidance, and mentorship to a team of Data Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee and ensure the smooth, efficient, and timely execution of data engineering projects and tasks.
  • Technical Guidance: Offer technical direction and support to the team, leveraging your own Data Engineering expertise.
  • Project Coordination: Manage project priorities, resource allocation, and deadlines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity and data quality.
  • Talent Development: Support the professional growth and development of team members.

Qualifications

Hard skills:

  • Fluency in French is essential.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience as a Data Engineer, including ETL processes and tools (e.g., Talend, DataStage, Stambia) or scripting languages (e.g., Python).
  • Educational background in Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a team coordination or leadership role.
  • Familiarity with the Portuguese market or a willingness to relocate to Lisbon.

Soft skills:

  • Excellent communication and soft skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • A genuine desire to balance technical hands-on work with managerial responsibilities.
