  • The Role: This role is for a data specialist responsible for maintaining and improving product master data in a New Product Development context. The person will enter and validate product data in the Rituals Master Database (STEP), monitor and resolve data quality issues, and collaborate with IT and business teams on governance and reporting improvements.
  • Requirements: Expert-level Excel skills are required including XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, nested IFs, data validation, pivot tables and pivot charts. The role also requires knowledge of master data management and 2–3 years of relevant experience in data management, project management, or innovation processes.

As a Data Specialist, you play a key role in ensuring that Rituals’ product master data is complete, reliable, and available across the business. You support the development of creative new ideas, concepts, and products by securing high-quality product data in our Rituals Master Database (STEP). 

Beyond entering data, you act as a data owner and problem-solver. You are a self-starter who takes ownership, proactively identifies issues, and continuously improves data quality. You have a strong affinity with data quality and take pride in delivering accurate, reliable, and trusted data across the organization. You are also an Excel expert, able to analyze, validate, and structure complex datasets efficiently to support better decision-making. 

For 40 hours per week, you will: 

  • Ensure accurate and timely product master data entry in STEP across all phases of the innovation process. 
  • Safeguard and continuously improve product data quality by identifying anomalies, inconsistencies, and root causes. 
  • Maintain, evaluate, and improve product master data, for example, on pricing or sustainable packaging. 
  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with IT and business teams to build scalable data governance and reporting solutions. 
  • Act as a data ambassador, promoting the value of high-quality, reliable data across the organization. 
  • Support supplier onboarding and responsible sourcing processes with strong data governance. 

JOIN OUR TEAM 

You will be part of the Global Innovation team, responsible for product innovations, category management, and product development. Within the New Product Development (NPD) Data Team, we ensure uniform, accurate, and trusted product master data across the enterprise. 

Please note: this role requires a strong onsite presence at our Amsterdam CHO.

On top of this, you bring: 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (e.g., Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering). 
  • A self-starting mindset with proven ability to work independently and proactively. 
  • A strong affinity with data quality, accuracy, and structured ways of working. 
  • Expert-level Excel skills, including: 
    •   Advanced formulas (e.g. XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, nested IFs) 
    •   Data validation and consistency checks 
    •   Pivot tables and pivot charts for analysis and reporting 
    •   Managing and structuring large datasets 
    •   Creating clear, reusable Excel-based analyses and controls 
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in data management, project management, or innovation processes. 
  • Knowledge of master data management and/or New Product Development (NPD). 
  • Strong English communication skills. 
  • Experience in a retail or fast-paced, data-driven environment is a plus.
