  • The Role: An experienced geotechnical engineer will manage and provide technical oversight for client projects, leading teams and supporting business development in a geotechnical consulting context.
  • The Person: Lead project execution and quality control across the full lifecycle of geotechnical projects, perform technical analyses and reviews, supervise field exploration, and mentor junior engineers while supporting business development.
  • Requirements: Requires 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, knowledge of geotechnical principles, project management, business development experience, BS in Civil/Geological Engineering or Geology, and a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

Job Description

Responsibilities

ECS Limited is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Senior Project Engineer to manage key client projects in our Greenville office. In this role, you will lead project execution, provide technical oversight, ensure quality control, and mentor junior staff.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee full lifecycle of geotechnical engineering projects.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and plans.
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and engineering calculations.
  • Supervise field exploration programs and interpret geotechnical data from boring layouts, utility clearances, and laboratory tests.
  • Perform technical review of engineering designs, drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior engineers and project managers.
  • Assist with business development efforts through community involvement and client engagement.
  • Promote company values, positive culture, and high employee engagement.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of geotechnical principles.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Business development experience.

 

Required Education & Certifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.

 

Preferred Education & Certifications:

  • MS in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar.

Military Qualifications

  • The following US Military ranks will qualify for this position IF they also meet the education and licenses requirements from the above section titled "Required Qualifications":
