  • The Role: An intern role to design and develop ROS 2-based robotic systems integrating perception, planning, execution, and large models for embodied tasks.
  • The Person: Design, develop, integrate, debug, and optimize ROS 2 robotic perception, planning, task-motion modules and model-based decision pipelines and create training and evaluation protocols for embodied tasks.
  • Requirements: Strong programming skills in Python, experience with ROS or ROS 2, deep learning frameworks, coordinate frames and transformations (TF), kinematics statics dynamics and motion control, SLAM navigation manipulation, simulation environments such as MuJoCo or Isaac Gym, and training RL policies for manipulation tasks.

Job Description: 

• Design and develop robotic systems based on ROS 2, covering perception, planning, and execution pipelines.
• Develop task and motion integration modules, including high-level planning and low-level policy execution.
• Integrate large models (LLMs / VLMs /VLAs) into robotic systems for decision-making, grounding, and action generation.
• Design reward functions, training curricula, and evaluation protocols for complex embodied tasks.
• Debug, profile, and optimize real-world or simulated robotic systems to improve stability, latency, and success rate.

Qualifications:

• Strong programming skills in Python; solid software engineering practices (modular design, debugging, version control) and experience with deep learning frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with robotic systems using ROS or ROS 2 (not limited to tutorials; real project experience expected).
• Solid understanding of core robotics concepts:
• Coordinate frames and transformations (TF)
• Basic Kinematics, Statics, Dynamics and Motion control
• Experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Robot perception (vision, detection, segmentation, VLMs)
• SLAM / navigation / manipulation
• Simulation environments such as MuJoCo, Isaac Gym, or similar
• Training RL policies for manipulation tasks
