Build an Aviation Career You're Proud Of

At Standard Aero (San Antonio) Inc., we use our ingenuity and expertise to tackle aviation’s toughest challenges — from routine maintenance to the most complex repairs and overhauls. Together, we get the job done and done well. Our stability, resources, and respectful culture give you the tools to grow a meaningful career within a team you can count on for the long term.

As a Project Engineer, you will lead and support a diverse portfolio of facilities, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects across more than 30 StandardAero locations globally. This is a hands-on engineering and project management role that combines technical problem-solving, project execution, contractor management, and continuous improvement.

You will take projects from initial problem identification and technical scoping through design, cost-benefit analysis, contractor coordination, installation, commissioning, and implementation. Projects may involve industrial ventilation and dust collection, cooling towers and heat exchangers, pumping and piping systems, chemical processes, wastewater systems, HVAC, facility layouts, building envelope and grounds, engine test systems, and energy-efficiency improvements.

In addition to managing planned projects, you will serve as a trusted technical resource to Operations and Maintenance teams—helping troubleshoot critical facility and equipment issues, identify preventative and predictive maintenance opportunities, and develop practical engineering solutions that improve reliability, safety, efficiency, and cost performance.

What you'll do:

  • Lead facilities and capital projects from concept through completion, developing technical scopes, coordinating resources, managing schedules, evaluating costs and benefits, and driving projects through installation and implementation.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently, working independently as the Project Manager or as part of larger cross-functional project teams.
  • Provide engineering expertise for projects involving industrial ventilation, dust collection, HVAC, cooling towers, heat exchangers, pumping and piping systems, wastewater, chemical processes, facility layouts, building infrastructure, and other industrial systems.
  • Develop technical scopes of work, evaluate proposed solutions, and perform cost-benefit analyses to support capital investment decisions.
  • Coordinate engineering consultants and obtain professional drawings, specifications, permits, and approvals when required.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and contractor proposals to ensure solutions meet operational and technical requirements.
  • Select, coordinate, and oversee contractors and skilled trades performing construction, installation, maintenance, and project work.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Environmental Health & Safety, and other internal stakeholders to ensure projects meet applicable environmental regulations, fire and life-safety requirements, and building, plumbing, electrical, and other relevant codes and standards.
  • Troubleshoot industrial equipment, facility infrastructure, utilities, and engine test systems, providing technical guidance and coordinating solutions with Maintenance and Operations teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment and facility reliability through preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Serve as an internal engineering resource, providing clear written and verbal recommendations to stakeholders regarding new and existing facility systems.
  • Identify and develop Continuous Improvement projects that reduce operating costs, improve energy efficiency, increase reliability, and enhance overall facility performance.
  • Serve as a key engineering resource for StandardAero's environmental and energy-efficiency initiatives, including GreenERmro projects focused on reducing energy consumption and environmental impact
  • Provide facilities engineering and technical project support remotely to more than 30 StandardAero locations globally.
