Here’s are the top 30 cities and areas for Digital Jobs in 2026, based on our index of more than 400,000 digital roles actively hired across recent months from our overall database including over 130,000 open roles currently live on the DigitalJobs.com platform. The results span North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, covering roles across more than 40 digital job categories — including software engineering, data-science, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital marketing and many more.
Top 3 – New York, London, San Francisco
These three cities are well ahead of everyone else, each with roughly triple the number of jobs of the fourth place city.
Some my be surpised to see New York take top spot but New York’s total comes from a core base of historic finance-adjacent tech work – jobs in Goldman and Morgan Stanley within digital teams, as well as more obviously ‘tech’ companies like Google.
London also has lots of finance related digital jobs, but more in the pure ‘fintech’ area, where it’s sometimes perceived as the global fintech capital: Revolut, Monzo and Wise in particular, alongside large offices from the big tech cos: Google, Meta and Amazon. London is also now being seen as europe’s dominent tech startup capital with thriving startup scene as shown with almost 1000 startups now listed on the London Startup Map alone.
San Francisco’s number reflects its long history in tech, with many global HQs like Salesforce, Uber, AirBnB, plus the massive density of startups packed into a small footprint. Outside of San Francisco also sits a number of large secondary clusters of tech and digital compaines and these areas feature further down the top 30.
New York and London are separated by just 343 jobs – so close that either could take the top spot depending on shifts in hiring from one week to the next – with SF within the same general ballpark before a laege drop off in number to 4th position.
Position 4 – 10
Austin has a very solid tech scene, and of course is famous for both Tesla and Oracle moving their HQs there. Apple also runs a large Austin campus.
Seattle’s number is driven by Microsoft and Amazon, though Microsoft’s HQ is actually in Redmond, essentially meaning they contribute heavily to two of the top ten spots.
Toronto is home of Shopify, along with large Google and Amazon engineering offices.
Paris has picked up a run of AI research lab, including Meta and Google DeepMind teams, plus famously Mistral, and the well known incubator ‘Station F’ is of course based in the city. At any one time, Station F’s startups may represent several hundred jobs spread among them.
Berlin’s tech scene is well known in Germany, and jobs here are often driven by businesses like HelloFresh, traditional businesses hiring digital roles like Bertelsmann, and a really long tail of both global firms with regional offices and local startups in particular hiring tech roles.
Finally you’ll note Singapore is here, where the entire nation functions as its own capital city. Singapore functions as regional HQ for Google, ByteDance and Grab, on top of busy local tech demand of its own.
Position 11 -20 Includes Large Californian Hubs
Some may argue they should really be grouped into one single entry as ‘Silicon Valley’, but we’ve grouped Sunnyvale, San Jose, and Mountain view separately as jobs are usually advertised in each individually. Sunnyvale is LinkedIn’s HQ and has a large Apple campus, as well as Juniper Networks. San Jose has Adobe, PayPal, Cisco and Ebay. Mountain View is of course Google’s home base, as well as having Intuit and a Meta office nearby.
Dublin is the one that will be known to most in Europe, but may need more explanation beyond: Ireland’s corp tax rate has made it the default European HQ for many US tech companies, hosting EMEA operations for businesses like Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Stripe (of course founded by the Collison brothers, albeit HQd in Palo Alto), and AirBnB. Most hiring there services Europe or the even broader EMEA region, rather than directly serving Ireland itself, which is why a city with a relatively modest population of 600,000 sits among established US tech giants and large cities like Chicago and Sydney, ahead of many EU capitals.
Sydney is Canva’s HQ, generally hiring 100+ roles at any one time
Sydney’s number owes a lot to Atlassian, which is headquartered there, plus regional offices for Google and Canva.
Position 21 – 30
The final tranche of 30 cities on the list are generally large international cities with a mix of industries, among which tech and digital roles have grown to make up a large slice in recent years. Warsaw may be the biggest surprise here: It’s become a common choice for engineering teams, including for Google, Amazon, Samsung, mainly as a result of Poland’s focus on producing technical graduates, and the perception of lower cost than Western Europe.
Cupertino is globally known as Apple’s headquarters, with an additional halo of jobs from people like Seagate, Trend Micro, and regional presence from Cisco Systems and Tata Consultancy Services.
Bellevue sits across Lake Washington from Seattle, with overflow offices from both Amazon and Microsoft as their original campuses filled, plus Valve’s HQ. Atlanta’s total is helped by Microsoft and NCR, and Dallas by AT&T plus a growing number of businesses relocating offices there.
Standouts and Takeaways
Overall the list tell some larger stories, on top of individual city-level findings
- The US makes up 19 of the top 30 spots. Digital hiring is spread across a lot of metros, not concentrated purely on the coasts the way it may have been at one time.
- Europe holds nine spots. London, Paris, Berlin, Dublin, Amsterdam, Madrid, Warsaw, Barcelona, and Munich. – Germany and Spain the only countries with more than one entry.
- Silicon Valley is really four (or five) separate entries. Though it’s usually spoken of as Silicon Valley in the media, from a hiring perspective job ads are usually listed individually for Sunnyvale, San Jose, Mountain View, Cupertino (plus – if you really wanted to stretch it – SF, which would bump the area to the top spot).
- APAC has just two entries. In part this will be due to the different hiring mechanics of different regions, in part due to the disparate spread of jobs across cities in some countries, all meaning the individual city footprints appear smaller than the overall region’s tech industry as a whole.
Rankings are based on an analysis of 400,000+ digital job listings on DigitalJobs.com. Hybrid roles were included where individual cities were referenced, purely Remote roles were fully excluded, results sway toward English language jobs and more broadly roman alphabet listings.
