  • The Role:This role is for a senior network engineer supporting a government client and working on network engineering in an intelligence or defense context.
  • The Person:The person will analyze network requirements, develop architecture and design documentation, plan integration and migration work, troubleshoot complex network problems, and coordinate technical issues with government personnel and senior executives.
  • Requirements:The role requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information clearance, the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph, a current IAT II Compliant Certification, and knowledge of DoDIIS, IC standards, WAN, LAN, and tactical communications.

Network Engineer – Level 3

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph to be considered. 

Cherokee Preting is seeking a Network Engineer to support our government client.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Network Engineer – Level 3: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00

Pay commensurate with experience.

Network Engineer – Level 3 Responsibilities Include: 

  • Analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop network requirements specifications
  • Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies 
  • Analyzes network requirements and capacity and leads design and development activities
  • Provides technical leadership for the integration of network requirements, design, and technology 
  • Incorporates new network plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
  • Develops network architecture and network design documentation 
  • Guides network development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of network engineering management plans and network integration and test plans 
  • Design and perform integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems
  • Manage the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemes
  • Interacts with the Government regarding Network Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts 
  • Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Network Engineering area of responsibility
  • Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

 

Network Engineer – Level 3 Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • Current Top Secret clearance and SCI eligible and willingness to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph

  • Must meet one of the following:

    • High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of relevant experience

    • Associate’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience

    • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience

    • Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience

    • PhD and 2 years of relevant experience

  • Current IAT II Compliant Certification

  • Thorough knowledge of DoD Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) and Intelligence Community (IC) standards, processes, and major programs

  • Knowledge of DoD and IC Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), and tactical communications

  • Knowledge of major intelligence databases, data needs, and web-based services

  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
