  • Make architectural decisions and develop simple, maintainable solutions
  • Work on complex distributed systems and integrations
  • Build systems with high availability and very low tolerance for errors
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering and Business stakeholders

  • Experience owning and delivering complex backend projects
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems and scalable applications
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
  • A strong eye for quality, reliability, detail and maintainability
  • A pragmatic, hands-on approach to solving complex problems

Startup experience is a genuine requirement for this position. Candidates whose experience is exclusively within large corporate environments will not be considered.

Experience with the following is highly relevant:

  • Go
  • Google Cloud / GCP
  • Kubernetes
  • Distributed systems
  • Asynchronous communication
  • Databases and message queues
  • High-availability systems
  • External APIs and integrations

Experience with capital markets or financial services is a strong advantage, particularly institutional trading, exchanges, trading venues, securities finance, clearing and settlement, execution systems or related infrastructure.
This position is based in Amsterdam and operates on a hybrid basis, with the team currently working together in the office two days per week, one optional office day and the remaining days generally remote.

Please note:

  • You must already be living and working in the Netherlands
  • Relocation from another country is not available
  • This is not a fully remote position
  • Visa sponsorship is generally not possible
  • Candidates must be able to work from the Netherlands without requiring relocation support

You will join a small and highly experienced engineering team where you can have a direct impact on the architecture and development of a growing capital-markets platform.
