At Walker, you’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex parking structures in the world, including structures serving resorts, casinos, airports, and other major developments.
Parking structures combine many of the challenges found in both buildings and bridges, requiring thoughtful structural design, materials knowledge, long spans, durability considerations, and attention to aesthetics. - Prepare and revise drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and structural details.
- Interpret and apply building codes and other applicable requirements.
- Participate in project coordination and meetings with engineers, architects, and other team members.
- Assist with construction-phase activities, including reviewing submittals and shop drawings.
- Participate in fieldwork and site visits to gain firsthand experience with active projects.
- Learn how structural design decisions translate from the drawing board to the field.
What You'll Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Engineering, or Architectural/Engineering Technology.
- 0–5 years of previous structural design experience.
- Familiarity with Revit is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, or Microsoft Project is a plus.
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
