Position Summary

The internship provides hands-on experience in software quality assurance, functional and exploratory testing, test automation, API and integration testing, quality analytics, Agile delivery practices, and modern Quality Engineering methods.

Quality Assurance Analyst Interns will work alongside Quality Engineers, Software Engineers, Product Owners, and Technology leaders to help deliver high-quality software that supports critical business operations. Interns will contribute to real-world testing, automation, integration validation, quality analysis, defect management, and continuous improvement initiatives while participating in Agile team activities.

This role is designed to build practical technical skills, product and business-process knowledge, and professional experience. Each intern will receive mentorship and complete a focused project in one of three areas: Test Automation Engineering, API and Integration Quality Engineering, or Quality Analytics and Engineering Excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

  •  Review user stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria to identify test conditions and quality risks.

  •  Design, document, and execute functional, integration, regression, and exploratory test scenarios.

  •  Identify, document, track, retest, and communicate software defects; participate in defect triage and root-cause analysis.

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and contribute to regression automation coverage.

  • Create and execute API validation scenarios and verify data accuracy across integrated systems.

  • Execute automated tests in continuous integration and delivery workflows; analyze results and investigate failures.

  • Analyze test results, defect trends, and quality metrics; assist with dashboards and status reporting.

  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and communicate progress, risks, findings, and recommendations.

  • Complete assigned training, project deliverables, knowledge transfer, and a final capstone presentation.

Position Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of software testing concepts

  • Exposure to programming languages such as:

    • Java

    • C#

    • JavaScript

    • Python

  • Familiarity with Agile development practices

  • Exposure to automation tools and frameworks

  • Understanding of APIs and web-based applications

  • Experience with Git or source control systems

Education

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or another relevant technical field

Experience

  • Coursework, academic projects, or prior experience involving software development, software testing, data analysis, or related technical work is preferred

Computer Skills

  • Basic familiarity with one or more programming or scripting languages; SQL and relational databases; API concepts; source control; Microsoft Windows and Office applications; exposure to test automation or CI/CD tools is preferred

Other Requirements

  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle and Agile fundamentals; strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; ability to manage a full-time internship workload and present a final capstone project
