Overview
Kimley-Horn's Orlando, FL office is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer, Project Manager with 5+ years of relevant experience to join our diverse and fast-paced organization!
This position is responsible for providing technical leadership while managing the successful execution of transmission line projects from initial scope development through final design and construction support. The ideal candidate will be a technically strong transmission line engineer who will ownership of project delivery, lead and develop engineering and design staff, coordinate with clients and project stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
- Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
- Prepare specifications and project design criteria.
- Provide field support during construction.
- The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients as well as provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.
- Occasional travel to client and project locations will be expected.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- 5+ years related transmission line design experience
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in scheduling and budgeting.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Consulting or utility experience preferred.
