- The Role:This role is for an optical engineer developing opto-mechanical subsystems for quantum computers using optically trapped neutral atoms.
- The Person:The person will design optical subsystems, analyse design trade-offs, create specifications, perform tolerance and stray light analysis, develop alignment procedures, and help assemble, align, and characterise optical designs.
- Requirements:The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Optical Sciences, Optical Engineering or related field, 3+ years optical design experience, 2+ years of hands-on optics assembly experience, and experience with Fourier Optics, Zemax, FRED, and Onshape or Solidworks.

This position reports to the Optical Engineering Manager and requires on-site work at our Boulder, CO facility five days per week.

The base salary range for this position is between $120,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we offer an annual bonus and equity in the company.
