About the role

Amazon is investing heavily in building a world-class advertising business, and we are responsible for defining and delivering a collection of self-service performance advertising products that drive discovery and sales. Our products are strategically important to our Retail and Marketplace businesses, driving long-term growth. We deliver billions of ad impressions and millions of clicks daily, and are breaking fresh ground to create world-class products. We are highly motivated, collaborative, and fun-loving, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a bias for action. With a broad mandate to experiment and innovate, we are growing at an unprecedented rate with a seemingly endless range of new opportunities. Our business is growing fast and is highly visible to senior leadership.

We're looking for a Developer Support Engineer to join our global Advertising API Support team. In this role, you'll be the technical expert for developers and advertising partners integrating with the Amazon Ads API — troubleshooting complex integration issues, debugging API behavior, and driving root-cause resolution. You'll also serve as a Technical Account Manager (TAM) for a portfolio of key partners, owning those relationships end-to-end and proactively guiding them toward successful, scalable integrations.

This is a hybrid role that blends technical depth with meaningful account ownership. It's ideal for someone who is a fast learner and enjoys solving hard technical problems while being the trusted technical partner that customers rely on.

Key job responsibilities
As a Developer Support Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Providing support directly to developers using the Amazon Advertising API
- Writing code samples, tutorials, and technical articles for the developer community
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive timely customer communication during critical events
- Contributing to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
- Owning the technical relationship for a portfolio of key API partners, serving as their primary point of contact
- Proactively monitoring partner health, anticipating risks, and driving resolution before issues escalate
- Building trusted, long-term relationships and representing the voice of the customer internally

Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of software development, or 3+ years of technical support experience
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience working with REST API based services
- Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl)
- Experience with data analysis and SQL

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with web-based applications and HTTP
- Experience as a technical specialist in customer-facing roles
- Experience with and deep understanding of advertising technologies (i.e., ad server, DSP)
- Experience working with AWS Services
