Your mission

As a DevOps & Automation Engineer, you will help us automate the installation, configuration and update processes of our ERP platform and its surrounding product ecosystem.

Our core ERP platform consists of Java and C#/.NET-based components and is primarily operated on Windows Server environments using IIS and Microsoft SQL Server. At the same time, our product landscape is evolving towards Linux-based and containerized applications using Docker.

One of your main responsibilities will be to transform existing installation and update procedures into standardized, reproducible and automated deployment workflows.

We currently use technologies such as PowerShell and Ansible for automation and GitHub Enterprise for source control. GitHub Actions will play an increasingly important role in our CI/CD and deployment workflows.

You will work closely with development, system engineering, support and product teams, review existing processes and drive automation projects from concept to productive use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and automate installation and update processes for our ERP platform and related products
  • Build reliable deployment workflows across Windows Server and Linux environments
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD and deployment pipelines using GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions
  • Extend and improve our existing automation based on Ansible and PowerShell
  • Automate deployment and updates of Java and .NET/C# applications, IIS components and Microsoft SQL Server databases
  • Support Linux-based and Dockerized product deployments
  • Standardize installation and configuration processes and make them reproducible and version-controlled
  • Implement validation, logging, error handling and rollback concepts
  • Analyze existing manual processes and identify further automation potential
  • Develop reusable automation components and standards across multiple products

Your profile

  • Strong experience with automation and scripting, particularly PowerShell and/or Python
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server environments
  • Solid knowledge of Linux systems
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and pipeline automation, preferably GitHub Actions or comparable platforms
  • Experience with configuration and deployment automation such as Ansible
  • Good understanding of Git and Git-based workflows
  • Experience with Docker and containerized applications
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to independently drive technical projects and work across different teams
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Nice to have

  • Experience with IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Java or .NET/C# application deployments
  • Infrastructure as Code experience, e.g. Terraform
  • Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of deployment, monitoring and security best practices

Why us?

  • A diverse working environment in which you can contribute your own ideas and help shape our future automation strategy
  • The opportunity to modernize and automate installation and update processes for an established ERP platform
  • Work across both Windows-based enterprise environments and modern Linux and container-based architectures
  • Intensive induction and development opportunities in our in-house training center
  • Flat hierarchies and an open corporate culture that values teamwork and collaboration
  • Flexible trust-based working hours with mobile office options and an attractive salary package including standard benefits
