- The Role:This is an experienced software engineering position focused on developing and supporting software products and systems.
- The Person:The person will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software, document code and processes, review code, and mentor developers.
- Requirements:The role requires a relevant bachelor’s degree plus seven years, or a relevant master’s degree plus five years, along with Java, Spring Boot, SQL or NoSQL, GCP, Kubernetes, and CI/CD experience.

What you’ll do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain software, products and/or systems.
- Identify improvements in systems and work and participate in estimation process, use case specifications, reviews of test plans and test cases, requirements, and project planning by providing subject matter expertise in the software development process.
- Provide technical guidance, supervise others, provide instructions, and debug code written by team members as well as mentor developers in developing code and workflows.
- Perform application development activities, including unit testing, code deployment to development environment and technical documentation; support software through the entire software development life cycle.
- Document code and processes.
- Self-starter, motivated, and actively learning and researching new methods of work and new technology, contribution of this level spans across the team and the development platform.
- Consistently hit development time estimates without underestimating or overestimating ability.
- Guide and mentor junior developers in developing code and workflow procedures, and conduct code reviews.
- Perform general application development activities, including unit testing, code deployment to development environment and technical documentation.
What experience you need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation in software development
- Or, alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation in software development.
- Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section):
- Source code control management systems: Git or SVN;
- Agile development methodology and CI/CD using Maven, or Jenkins;
- Language & frameworks : Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Micro services, RESTful API;
- SQL/NoSQL database technologies: BigQuery, Datastore, Redis;
- Cloud platform & services: GCP, Kubernetes, PubSub, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, or Cloud Composer;
- Logging, monitoring tools & quality: GCP Stack driver, DataDog, SonarQube, Fortify;
- and Collaboration tools: ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, Google Meet.
