About the job

As the Hardware Systems Integration Engineer, you will play a critical role in the entire lifecycle of Pixel products, managing the electrical design from early architecture through launch. This involves defining and validating electrical systems and managing architecture selection for Google's future devices. Your key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate cutting-edge technologies and optimize product performance, power, and thermal behavior. You will develop solutions for complex electrical system issues and drive product electrical design to mass production. This includes defining the Engineering Requirement Specification (ERS), assisting in software bring-up, and ensuring successful manufacturing and testing onsite. You will also manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners.

Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and review Phone hardware systems and sub-components from concept to mass production.
  • Perform detailed direct testing/validation to bring the design to mass production.
  • Participate in all stages of next generation consumer product development.
  • Maintain design rules and collaborate with layout engineers to optimize PCB design, including high-speed signal FPC circuits and layout, connector design, product validation, production test support, and establishing lab testing capabilities and guidelines.
  • Work with Engineering/Qualification teams on system bring-up and design validation.
