About the role

About Us

Founded in Berlin, autarc is a ~75 person start-up who were part of Y Combinator’s S24 batch in San Francisco. Our team consists of people in Sales, Tech and Operations, with the Engineering & Product department currently ~25 people, as we continue to grow throughout the year.

Your Impact

This role requires native level German. We unfortunately won't be processing any applications otherwise.

autarc builds the operating system for heat pump and solar installers – the product that got us where we are today. Our vision: to become the agentic OS for the workforce behind the energy transition, from smarter workflows to an AI voice agent built on LLMs.

Our Engineering & Product team of ~25 is growing, and we're looking for a Product Designer to shape our products across Heating, Solar, Core and AI. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and dedicated product managers, getting new prototypes to market fast, to learn what really works.

This is a design role, but not only: As the industry shifts, we expect you to build and ship yourself, too.

  • Build prototypes based on user feedback and customer interests

  • Work heavily on UX/UI, using Figma and other cutting edge tools (Lovable, Cursor) to build things 0-to-1

  • Support leadership in shaping and prioritising the product roadmap

  • Run product discovery alongside our teams through direct customer engagement

  • Manage product operations in Linear: triage, prioritisation, and sprint hygiene

  • Facilitate planning sessions with product teams and sprint preps with engineering leads

  • Represent autarc in customer calls, sales meetings, and training sessions

  • Work alongside our Engineers in building and shipping material

What you bring

  • 2-5+ years of experience as a Product Designer
  • Native-level German speaking
  • A strong eye for detail, covering UX and UI
  • Exposure to working in B2B SaaS
  • Deep experience working with Figma, plus working with Lovable, Cursor etc.
  • AI-native: you use AI tools to work faster and better
  • Desire to work in an AI-first team/company
  • Proven ability to conduct user interviews and product discovery
  • Willingness to work hybrid from our Berlin office

What we offer

  • Grow with us: As part of a fast-growing, YC-backed climate tech startup with an ambitious team.
  • Real ownership: Drive your work from idea to impact.
  • Low ego, high trust: No blame, open feedback, collaboration over hierarchy.
  • Be part of the energy transition: Help bring more heat pumps and solar to homes every day.
  • Hybrid work in Berlin-Mitte: 3 days together in our office near Weinbergspark, 2 from home. Need more flexibility? We'll find a way.
  • Modern equipment: MacBook and 27″ monitor.
  • Annual team retreat plus regular team events.
  • Mobility: Dance e-bike or Deutschland-Ticket.
  • Fitness: Urban Sports Club membership.
