- The Role:This role is for a software engineer building crypto product services in Rust for a global platform.
- The Person:The person will design and build APIs, data models and integrations, own what they ship in production, work with Product and Design, and help shape architecture and standards.
- Requirements:The ideal candidate has 4 years or more of professional experience, strong Rust, Go, Java or Kotlin, REST APIs, AWS or equivalent, containers, CI/CD, and blockchain fundamentals.
About the role
With millions of wallets created and a global audience, Bitcoin.com is one of the world's leading crypto content and onboarding platforms. We're now starting something new, from a blank repo in Rust, and we're early enough that the architecture is still being decided. Join us in bringing crypto to the next billion users. This is a fully remote position based in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build the services behind the product: APIs, data models, integrations
- Own what you ship, from first commit to running it in production
- Work with Product and Design to turn requirements into something that holds up under load
- Write code others can maintain, with tests and instrumentation as part of the work
- Take part in code reviews and help set the architecture and standards while they're still being decided
What We Are Looking ForÂ
RequiredÂ
- 4 years (or more) of professional experience.
- Strong Rust, Go, Java or Kotlin; production Rust a plus
- You design REST APIs others build on. Clear contracts, sensible versioning
- AWS or equivalent, containers, CI/CD
- Fluent with AI coding tools like Claude Code, with the judgment to know when the output can't be trusted
- Blockchain fundamentals: ERC20, RPC nodes, UTXO vs account models
- Clear written and verbal English, and a self-driven work style
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Nice to Have
- Payment rails (SEPA, SWIFT, ACH) or card issuing
- Regulated fintech: PSD2, KYC/AML, PCI DSS
- Crypto custody, on-chain settlement, stablecoin flows
- Monitoring and analytics tools (Sentry, New Relic)
Why Join Us
- Competitive salary and benefits
- Build a new product from the ground up, not maintain someone else's
- Room to grow in a fast-moving global organization
- One of the most recognized names in crypto
- Flexible, modern, remote-friendly environment
