Senior Engineer – Technology, Integration Services (Kafka)
The Senior Engineer will report to a Senior Manager – Integration Services in Information Technology department. 
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise real time messaging and integration solutions using Kafka across on prem and cloud environments, ensuring platform reliability, application enablement, and operational readiness for critical business systems.

Primary Responsibilities:
•    Serve as SME for the enterprise Confluent Managed Kafka platform, overseeing real-time messaging for over 150 applications and 500+ topics.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design source-to-target mappings for new or updated Kafka producer/consumer Java applications.
•    Enforce Kafka naming conventions and manage the governance of topic names and Avro schema validations.
•    Participate in review and approval process, providing final testing sign-off and deployment planning for all application changes.
•    Create and maintain Kafka application dashboards to provide real-time operational visibility and conduct peak review/readiness assessments for critical business periods.
•    Help triage and resolve production issues during Major Incident Management (MIM) bridge calls ensuring minimal impact on "ready-to-sell" systems.
•    Analyze production incident trends and provide data-driven recommendations for platform scaling, configuration, and stability improvements.
•    Provide technical guidance and execution support for partner team testing efforts, including issue triaging and resolution.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
•    7+ years of experience in IT with a focus on messaging, integration services, and SDLC in an Agile environment.
•    Extensive experience managing enterprise-scale Kafka environments with deep knowledge of java, Spring/Boot framework and Kafka
•    Strong hands-on experience with Java-based Kafka producers/consumers, Avro schemas, and schema registry management.
•    Proven ability to configure and scale Kafka topics and applications in a high-throughput retail environment.
•    Advanced skill in researching and resolving complex production incidents under pressure during MIM bridge calls.
•    Ability to explain complex Kafka integration issues to non-technical leadership and collaborate across diverse enterprise application teams.
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction to maintain the health and evolution of the Kafka platform.

Pay Range

USD $103,500.00 - USD $172,500.00 /Yr.
