WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

EOS IT Solutions is seeking highly skilled and adaptable Data Center Surge Technicians to join a centralized travel team supporting data center operations, infrastructure deployments, fiber optic installations, and critical operational initiatives across North America. This team supports new site turn-ups, expansions, deployment projects, infrastructure upgrades, SLA recovery efforts, and operational coverage needs.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel 70-90% across North America
    • Mobilize within 24-48 hours
    • Deployments lasting 2-6+ weeks
    • Hotel-based travel environments
    • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and overtime
    • Preferably located near a major airport

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Center Deployment & Infrastructure: Rack and stack deployments, server and network installation, structured cabling, site commissioning, migrations, rack elevations and physical infrastructure builds.

Fiber Optic Installation & Testing: Install and manage single-mode and multi-mode fiber systems, perform cleaning, testing, troubleshooting, OTDR testing, fault isolation, certification, and support fusion/ribbon splicing activities.

Break/Fix & Operations: Diagnose and repair server, network, and physical infrastructure issues, perform hardware replacements, troubleshoot Layer 1 connectivity issues, and support SLA-driven environments.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • 2-5+ years in data center operations, infrastructure deployment, structured cabling, fiber optics, or break/fix support
    • Strong rack-and-stack and hardware deployment experience
    • Experience with fiber installation, testing, troubleshooting, and support
    • Experience supporting production environments
    • Ability to read technical drawings and infrastructure documentation
    • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or x86 server hardware

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fusion or ribbon splicing experience
    • OTDR interpretation experience
    • BICSI, FOA, CCNA, JNCIA, Network+, or related certifications
    • Hyperscale or enterprise data center experience
    • Experience leading deployments or mentoring technicians

Pay Range: $32.45-$38.46/hr
