  • The Role: Supervise and manage a team responsible for operating and maintaining critical data center infrastructure and facilities.
  • The Person: Directly supervise semi-skilled support staff, assign and monitor tasks, manage personnel matters, oversee site projects and vendor work, assist with testing, and coordinate responses during incidents.
  • Requirements: Proven related experience or equivalent and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience are required and the role involves vendor management and assisting with start up tests.

Job Summary

Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees. Assigns tasks and monitors work at frequent intervals. Maintains schedules and workflow of the team. 

Responsibilities

Management

  • Provides immediate supervision to semi-skilled support teammembers.  Assigns tasks and monitors work at frequent intervals. Maintains schedules and workflow of the team

  • Manages personnel details to include salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching and training

Project / Infrastructure Site Management

  • Plans, coordinates, budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the datacenters. Executes specified routine tasks. Meets unit targets typically against a weekly plan

  • Provides input and guidance towards budget

  • ·Overall site capacity supervision

Vendor Management

  • Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards

Testing

  • Assists with start up tests, documenting and reporting all problems 

Incident Management

  • Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident

Qualifications

Typical Degree & Years of Experience

  • Proven years of related experience or equivalent work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
