Job Description:

Job Profile Summary 

The Senior Financial Analyst will develop an understanding of the Greif business structure and analyze financials to support internal and external communication. Analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data for story telling based on accurate and timely information. Requires advanced knowledge and skills to interpret financial information and make recommendations to senior management and conduct complex financial analysis.  

Location: Delaware, OH

This position offers a hybrid work model with 2-3 days per week in‑office. Collaboration is expected during in‑office days, with virtual tools available for remote work. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Understands complex financial analyses processes, systems, and procedures
  • Creates and analyzes financial reporting (actuals, forecasts, budgets) and is able to bridge various views to tell the financial story with key business drivers
  • Resolves issues and problems related as they arise with guidance from their leader as appropriate based on magnitude and impact
  • Develops financial models based on external modeling to support our investor relations team
  • When applicable, supports the business development team in analyzing divestiture, merger and acquisition proposals and conducts due diligence in support of project discussions and decision-making
  • Analyzes process design alternatives and identifies improvements to existing processes
  • Leads with influence - collaborates with broader FP&A team and key internal finance colleagues within investor relations, business finance, accounting, treasury, and tax to execute corporate finance deliverables in support of CFO
  • Owns the annual and quarterly timeline and manages associated deliverables (reporting calendar is built for the next 2 years)
  • Increases productivity by developing automated processes and intentional use of AI
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to junior analysts in the department
  • Ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study
  • 5-8 years of experience in internal financial reporting, FP&A, or planning type role
  • Familiar with Oracle EPM, Power BI, and AI tools such as Chat GPT, Claude, etc. preferred
  • Advanced in Excel and Microsoft Suite

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be a problem solver and be able to function in a high volume, fast-paced environment that serves many high-profile customers
  • Highly motivated and demonstrates independence in performance against objectives, with little to no oversight from management
  • Ability to think analytically and creatively while maintaining financial controls
  • Ability to simplify, articulate and model complex business questions/matters
  • Ability to communicate in an effective and clear manner with leaders to influence business decisions through fact-based analyses
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, competing priorities
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Conducts all work in a confidential, ethical, and professional manner
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment, further possessing the soft-skills to develop rapport with colleagues outside of finance in an office setting and thrive in our highly collaborative culture
  • Exhibits leadership competencies and professional maturity in dealing with peers and leaders

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $81,800.00 - $139,200.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between105,000.00 to115,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
