We hire Risk Engineers across multiple specialty areas and experience levels. Your placement will be based on your background and level of expertise within specific lines (e.g., construction, property, energy, marine, national accounts, casualty, and other specialized industries.  Field roles will work with all lines of business (WC, GL, Products, Property & Auto). Â

Potential ResponsibilitiesÂ

Conduct risk assessments, site surveys, and deliver actionable recommendations to reduce loss exposure with focus on customer-centricity and our service model to form partnerships while mitigating risk Â

Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and customers to develop tailored risk improvement strategies. Â

Working with our distribution partners to help differentiate The Hartford in the marketplace. Â

Leverage data analytics and digital tools to provide insights and predictive solutions. Â

Serve as a trusted advisor, educating clients on emerging risks and best practices. Â

Contribute to innovation initiatives that integrate AI and human expertise for precision and speed. Â
Â
Qualifications May IncludeÂ
-
Experience in risk engineering, loss control, safety, engineering, insurance, risk management, or a related field.Â

Technical knowledge in risk control and industry standards Â
-
Strong consultative skills to market risk mitigation solutions  Â

Self-starters who can independently manage a client service book across a designated territory. Â

Technical writing proficiency to effectively communicate risk evaluation and mitigation measures to clients and underwriters Â
-
Ability to analyze data and tell a compelling story with insights Â
-
Proficiency with digital tools (dashboards, mobile apps, client platforms) and openness to emerging technologies Â

Customer-centric mindset and collaborative approach Â

Degree in engineering, safety, or related discipline preferred; certification in safety or risk management disciplines a plus. Â

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$102,400 - $153,600
