About the job:

  • Research on innovative technologies at the physical layer for advancing 5G, 6G and beyond

  • System level design, analysis, modelling, simulation and prototyping of wireless radio systems and sub-systems

  • Radio algorithms design and simulation for advanced wireless radio access technologies

  • Drive and guide the implementations of radio algorithms in hardware and software

  • Monitoring the state-of-the-art technologies in academia and industry, innovate and validate the new technology ideas through analysis, simulation and prototyping

  • Support in tasks related to working groups of standardization organizations such as 3GPP, IEEE, and others

  • Stay abreast of the current status and new trends in research and development of advanced radio access technologies

  • Generate invention disclosures and support patent applications

The total target annual compensation (based on 2,080 hours per year) ranges from $104,000 to $154,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.

About the ideal candidate:

  • Ph.D in wireless telecommunications (such as information theory, digital signal processing, channel coding, MIMO systems, beamforming, resource allocation)

  • Strong technical expertise in wireless radio access air interface design, physical layer algorithms design and cross-layer optimization

  • Demonstrated ability in designing end-to-end link-level/system-level simulation tools for the performance evaluation of wireless communication systems

  • Strong mathematical/analytical skills

  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
