About the role

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Environmental Science graduates with 1+ years of experience to join our Oakland, CA office! This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of CEQA and NEPA environmental documents.
  • Support project teams with environmental research, data collection, and technical analyses.
  • Coordinate with environmental specialists, planners, engineers, and project managers.
  • Help prepare permit applications and regulatory agency submittals.
  • Conduct desktop research related to environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and project constraints.
  • Assist with field investigations, site visits, and environmental documentation efforts.
  • Support proposal development, project pursuits, and business development activities.
  • Maintain project files, schedules, and deliverables in accordance with Kimley-Horn standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams supporting infrastructure, transportation, utility, water, and energy projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Planning, Biology, Geography, Natural Resources, or a related field.
  • 1+ year of relevant environmental consulting, planning, or internship experience.
  • Interest in environmental compliance, permitting, and impact assessment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
