About the role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer at Meta, you will take responsibility to ensure that the product produced in the manufacturing site meets the requirements that Meta has defined, covering product cosmetics, function, and reliability. You will take responsibility to make sure that the proper end-to-end quality control systems are in place. You will take ownership in the product development stage to identify the potential process/product risks and work with the engineering team for risk elimination. You need to develop an efficient quality control and monitoring mechanism in the manufacturing site to make sure that the deviation in the process is under control as well as the product's outgoing quality.

Responsibilities

  • NPI Quality: Participate in DFM/drawing reviews, validate tooling, and approve FAI, CPK, MTD and Control Plans for new mechanical parts (plastics, stamping, machining, etc.)
  • Issue Resolution: Lead root-cause analysis for IQC/production issues using 8D methodologies; ensure effective CAPA implementation
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor supplier yield and CPK; drive improvement projects to reduce DPPM. Manage 4M1E changes strictly
  • Supplier Management: Conduct on-site QSA/QPA audits for new and existing suppliers
Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Tooling Design, material, or related fields
  • Experience: 8+ years of SQE experience focusing on mechanical components. Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, die casting, stamping, coating)
  • Core Skills: Proficient in GD&T and CMM/OMM measurements. Strong grasp of Quality Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP)
  • Quality Systems: Familiar with ISO 9001 (IATF 16949 is a plus)
  • Soft Skills: Experience driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions with cross-functional teams, and negotiating quality requirements with suppliers
Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

  • Experience with consumer electronics or AR/VR hardware products
  • Experience with reliability testing methodologies (HTHH, cross hatch, environmental stress screening)
  • Knowledge of advanced metrology techniques and optical inspection systems
  • Experience managing supplier quality in China or Asia-Pacific manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Mandarin language proficiency for supplier communication
